From a town called Startown —
because that's what the sky was there.

Jack Stallings grew up in Startown, North Carolina, in the kind of dark that lets you see. He learned to read rooms before he learned how to leave them — from the fifth pew far right to Fort Jackson in August, from there to sixteen years inside the institutional church, and eventually out the other side of it.

He holds a Master of Divinity from Hood Theological Seminary. He has buried people, planted churches, and walked away from things that should have held him. He is an Army veteran and a distance runner. He is a father to two sons. He is based in Charlotte, and he is working through it.
